7.62 DESIGN INVADES THE DEL MAR GUNSHOW:

Winning hearts and minds (through superior firepower!), 7.62 Design partook in the almighty Del Mar Gunshow in our home town of San Diego, February 13-14, 2010.

Our T-shirt assault team met with the best of Southern California's 'real folks' for this two day, firearms and accessories extravaganza.

Below (L/R):

• Sales goddess and resident supermodel, Mayra Navarro, maintains order with a gorgeous JD Machine Tech .308. Anyone for a sucking chest wound?

• 7.62 Design President, Jeff Scholz and Director of Operations, Chris Umlauf, on standby for brand meet & greet.

• Mayra Navarro and brother marine, Lance Corporal Gregory Cornish, show off his new USMC 'Rifleman's Creed' T'. Greg is officially the first jarhead worldwide to don this just-released garment.

FROM THE 7.62 DESIGN DEPARTMENT OF METAL:

It is a well known fact that 7.62 Design's 'soundtrack' is one of brutal heavy metal and mosh-pit hardcore. Nothing rev's-up the pre-operational Man-of Arms like the massive assault of kick-ass grind from Slayer, Cro-Mags, Keelhaul, Crowbar, etc.

Enter US Army SSgt. Phillip McSorley. Phil is the lead-slinging, lead-singing half of the 2 man band, Cobalt, who's latest release, 'Gin' (2009 Profound Lore Records) is an absolute metal masterpiece! While his civilian counterpart, Erik Wunder, tackles all instrumental work, Phil, somehow, juggles his professional 'day job' as a 19D Cavalry Scout with the 1st Infantry Division's 5-4 Cavalry Brigade. As a section leader, Airborne Paratrooper and member of the Sgt. Audie Murphy Club, he truly leads from the front.

'Gin' was produced over several sessions. Upon Phil's return from South Korea, he recorded the album's lyrics and was then sent to Iraq (to crush enemy forces with superior firepower!), from where he returned in October of 2009. As he humbly points out, Cobalt is not the mouthpiece of the US Army. However, Phil confidently states that he is a warrior who volunteered to destroy the enemies of The United States.

We like that!

The album has received great praise from numerous magazines and the metal crowd as well. Cobalt's 'Gin' is an incredible achievement and we eagerly await the release of their next album in 2010. Their signature brand of 'War Metal' is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Outstanding work, Phil! We're damned proud to have you batting for the red, white and blue team.

PS: Don't be a sissy. Read Decibel Magazine, the Extremely Extreme Metal Magazine!

TWO THINGS JARHEADS LOVE: BRAWLING & GOOD COFFEE:

There’s been quite a bit a news in the media lately about the ‘other’ women. But rest assured, Hank’s only other girl, besides his Panamanian Sweetheart of 21 years, is 7.62 Design’s patriotic beauty, the 'B.A.R. Babe' T'. Retired Marine Major Hank Salmans, owner of Devil Dog Brew, must be enjoying the good life if he can lounge around in comfortable T-shirts and enjoy a steaming cup of Devil Dog Brew, 100% Gourmet Arabica Coffee.

Devil Dog Brew has been motivating our Warfighters in Afghanistan, Iraq, and in every other clime and place through their shipping of Operation MRE (Morale Readiness Equipment) across the globe. A portion of their proceeds go to support military and law enforcement charities, so be sure to pay Devil Dog Brew a visit for the best damn coffee in the world. And remember to tell Hank '7.62 Design sent you'!

7.62 DESIGN AND ROOM 101 PLEDGE OUR ALLEGIANCE:

Our beer-swilling supermodel and company President, Jeff Scholz (wearing our USMC 'Always Faithful' T'), recently visited a favorite site in our lovely home town of La Jolla, CA, the Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial. As his guest was his brother former Marine and fellow entrepreneur, Matt Booth of Room 101 Silver, and his lovely bride, Julie.

We're huge fan's of Room 101 and Matt's creative skills. He is an incredibly talented artisan and his high-end, custom jewelry is a direct reflection of the passion and attention to detail our beloved Corps instills in its members.

7.62 Design is a lifelong member of the Mount Soledad Memorial Association. We urge you to join us in honoring our fallen comrades and fending off the gutless, liberal hordes who continue their attempts to tear down this wonderful monument. Stay home, dirty hippies. This solemn landmark is not for you!

7.62 DESIGN SUPPORTS 'FREEDOM IS NOT FREE':

11/11/09: 7.62 Design joined forces with San Diego's 'Freedom Is Not Free', a great, non-profit, charitable organization who supports our wounded brothers and sisters in arms. The event took place aboard the USS Midway on Veterans Day and featured a private showing of the awesome, new film 'The Hurt Locker'. Beaucoup volumes of our distinctive military T's were sold and all profits were donated to our fellow patriots!

Always faithful. Our ink-slinging brother, Thad Gardner of Raygun Tattoo (Dana Point, CA. Ph: 760-214-0838), recently permanently embellished Mike the Jarhead with our classic USMC 'Devil Dog' design. That's gotta friggin' hurt!
