You may recall my heartwarming post several months back about spotting those filthy posers who besmirch the valor of our true Warriors. Today, I am pleased to report a quick and definitive resolution for a dirtbag who used his phony claims to bilk do-gooders out of money, services and gifts.

Meet JASON TRUITT of Bakersfield, CA.

Jason’s tales were SO preposterous and patently doubtable, that even I am amazed at his audacity. He claimed to have been a Navy SEAL who was shot 11 times in combat. Decorated numerous times for courage under fire. And get this... that he was a PRISONER OF WAR.

HUNTS FOR HEROES, a charitable group who takes wounded vets on free guided big-game hunts in Colorado, heard about Jason’s claims and reached out. They gave him financial aid for the trip; they also contacted local NRA reps, who wanted to get involved. The NRA presented Truitt with a brand-new hunting rifle to bag his elk with.

When interviewed by a local newspaper, Truitt gushed about his trip. He described the difficulties wounded vets face when coming home from combat. “It’s kind of hard to talk about, you know?”, he stated. Yeah, asshole, especially when none of that crap happened.

This week, the falsehood came out. Both the NRA and Hunts for Heroes are vowing legal action to recoup the funds and rifle. They’ll never get their cool points back for being played by this prick, but I predict that Truitt will be on the run for quite a while. Attorneys like to call Stolen Valor a “victimless crime” in court, but Truitt’s family and friends are permanently marked with SHAME and DISGRACE.
